There are several options in screen reading and/or screen magnification software computer programs for the visually impaired. If you are interested in products such as these, you will want to do research for vendors in your area or online that sell these programs.

Typically, you can expect to magnify the screen content of your computer up to 36 times. Some programs are MS Office compatible (varying versions) and complete with audio speech and scripting options. On average, one can expect to spend between $300 and $1000 for software. There may be an additional fee for licensing, depending on the vendor.

Before you make any purchases, it is a good idea to research local organizations in your area dedicated to the visually impaired to see if there are discounts for organization members, or other like resources available at lower costs.
